Mr Jon Shearer, Jr.


 After graduating from Bennett High School, I served three years in the army, then I earned my elementary education degree and Masters of Public School Administration from Salisbury University. I taught Reading, English, Science, and Mathematics in the fifth and sixth grades at Pinehurst Elementary School for nine years and Reading/Language Arts in the sixth grade at Wicomico Middle School for three years. I served as assistant principal at Willards Elementary & Pittsville Elementary and Middle Schools for four years and at Wicomico Middle School for a year before I became principal, there. I served as principal at Wicomico Middle School for three years and now serve as principal at Fruitland Intermediate School.

Ms. Stewart is a proud product of Wicomico County Public Schools. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Biology from Salisbury University. Post-graduation, Ms. Stewart pursued additional certification in Early Childhood Education. She also has a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Salisbury University. While in graduate school, Ms. Stewart received her Administration I and II certification. Ms. Stewart began her carrier teaching first grade at Westside Primary for six years. Most recently, she was an Elementary Literacy Professional Development Coach at WELC, Beaver Run, and East Salisbury School. She attended Fruitland schools as a student in Wicomico County and is excited to return to the Fruitland community.
