Mrs. Brown has been an educator in Wicomico County for over 20 years since beginning as a 3rd grade teacher at Glen Avenue Elementary School where she worked for 11 years. During this time she was chosen as the Intermediate School Finalist for Wicomico's Teacher of the Year and for Sam's Club Teacher of the Year. She has worked at several schools as elementary Reading/ELA coach and as a school administrator for 8 years. Mrs. Brown is also active in her community having served as a Girl Scout Leader for over 8 years and as a Youth Leader at her church. She has worked on Curriculum development for several years for the Maryland State Department of Education and has been a Mentor for students in Wicomico County for several years. Mrs. Brown has also served in various positions at the Fruitland Community Center where she was formerly a member of the Board of Directors. She is also a past president of the Wicomico County Association of Elementary School Administrators. Mrs. Brown is truly committed towards providing a positive and safe learning environment for the students and staff of North Salisbury School where students are provided with the tools and resources needed to help them reach their highest level of academic success.
Mr. Collins is in his sixth year as Assistant Prinicpal at Glen Avenue School. He has found Glen Avenue to be full of caring and dedicated staff that go above and beyond for their learners. His career began in Somerset County where he taught Elementary, Middle and High School at one time or another. He also served as Principal for five years in that county. He served as Teaching Vice Principal at the Lower Shore DRILL Academy, Vice Principal at James M. Bennett High School, Chipman Elementary and Delmar Elementary Schools before coming to Glen Avenue Elementary. He believes in team work, with everyone being responsible for the success of all students. His wife, Cindy, is a first grade teacher in Dorchester county.
Dr. Vail is originally from Sea Isle City in South Jersey. Go Eagles! Dr. Vail obtained her B.A. and teaching degree from Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania. She then attended UMES for her master's degree in counseling and her doctorate in organizational leadership. She has lived in the Salisbury area for 22 years. Dr. Vail started her career as a guidance counselor near Roanoke, Virginia then moved to the Eastern Shore. After 8 years in Worcester County Public Schools, Dr. Vail began working for Wicomico Public Schools as an Assistant Principal. She has served at Pittsville Elementary and Middle School, Beaver Run Elementary School, Delmar Elementary School, and now North Salisbury School. Dr. Vail has two daughters, one of whom attended North Salisbury only a few years ago and her youngest attends North Salisbury this year. She is an avid Eagles fan, loves geocaching with her family, goes camping whenever the schedule allows, and enjoys all watersports!
